Clinical Application
This flexible Recamier curette is intended for gynecologic intrauterine use where controlled scraping or removal of endometrial tissue is required. Common procedural applications include dilatation and curettage (D&C), endometrial sampling, evacuation of retained products of conception, and targeted removal of superficial tissue from the uterine cavity. The blunt 40 mm blade provides broad surface contact for efficient tissue displacement with reduced cutting action compared with sharp curettes.
Design & Configuration
The flexible shaft permits the curette to conform to the natural curvature of the uterine cavity, improving contact between the blade and endometrial surface while allowing tactile feedback to the operator. The 40 mm blunt blade offers a wide working surface to cover more area per pass, which can reduce the number of insertions required. A total length of 31 cm provides sufficient reach for transvaginal procedures while maintaining ergonomic control. The blunt blade profile is selected to minimize focal pressure and lower the likelihood of tissue perforation compared with sharp-edged instruments when used appropriately.
