Clinical Application
This instrument is designed for controlled manual curettage within the uterine cavity. The spoon-shaped Recamier blade is used to remove soft tissue, products of conception, or endometrial lining during procedures such as diagnostic or therapeutic uterine curettage, uterine evacuation, and intraoperative cavity debridement. Its flexible blade allows gentle conformation to the uterine contour, helping reduce focal pressure points and improving tissue contact during sampling or removal.
Design & Configuration
The flexible 15 mm spoon-shaped blade provides a balance between surface area for efficient tissue removal and a narrow profile for atraumatic entry and maneuvering. A 31 cm overall length offers extended reach suitable for deeper cavities or when additional working distance is required in operating room and ambulatory settings. Flexibility in the shaft and blade permits the surgeon to contour the instrument to the uterine curvature, improving tactile feedback and reducing risk of perforation compared with rigid curettes in some clinical scenarios.
