Clinical Application
The instrument is designed for gynecologic intrauterine procedures where controlled scraping or removal of endometrial tissue is required. Common uses include diagnostic or therapeutic dilation and curettage (D&C), removal of retained products of conception, polyp retrieval, and sampling of endometrial tissue. The flexible shaft and loop tip allow the operator to follow uterine contours while maintaining tactile feedback during tissue engagement.
Design & Configuration
A flexible shaft reduces the need for excessive uterine manipulation and helps the loop profile conform to anteverted or retroverted uterine anatomy. The Fig.5 loop geometry provides a broad circumferential cutting/collecting edge for efficient tissue capture with each pass. The 31 cm overall length offers extended reach suitable for adult uterine cavities while preserving ergonomic control at the handle.
