Clinical Application
Designed for controlled removal of soft intrauterine tissue, this Recamier-style curette is used in gynecologic procedures such as diagnostic and therapeutic dilation and curettage (D&C), endometrial sampling, and clearance of retained products. The spoon-shaped cup is suited to gentle scraping and scooping of endometrial lining with tactile feedback to the operator, supporting precise tissue collection while minimizing focal trauma.
Design & Configuration
The flexible shaft permits negotiation of the cervical canal and contours of the uterine cavity, improving access in anteverted, retroverted, or anatomically challenging uteri without transmitting excessive rigid forces. The 11 mm cup provides a balance between surface area for efficient tissue removal and controlled engagement, while the overall 31 cm length offers reach for routine gynecologic access. The Fig.4 pattern denotes the specific geometry of the curette cup and shaft used to optimize scraping angle and operator control.
