Clinical Application

This rigid Recamier curette is intended for controlled scraping, debridement and removal of soft tissue from cavities. Its 35 mm spoon-shaped cup and 31 cm overall length make it suitable for gynecologic procedures such as endometrial curettage, evacuation of retained products of conception, removal of polyps or granulation tissue, and similar intrauterine or intra-cavitary tissue management where a blunt, scooping instrument is preferred.

Design & Configuration

The rigid shaft provides direct tactile feedback and axial stability when accessing the uterine cavity or other deep cavities, improving control during tissue removal. The blunt, spoon-shaped cup reduces the risk of focal perforation compared with sharp curettes while allowing effective tissue capture and extraction. The 31 cm overall length affords adequate reach in most adult gynecologic procedures while maintaining maneuverability in confined operative fields.
