Clinical Application
This rigid sharp curette is intended for controlled scraping and removal of soft tissue from cavities where a broad, cutting edge is preferred. It is commonly used in gynecologic procedures such as diagnostic or therapeutic endometrial curettage, removal of retained products of conception, targeted debridement of uterine tissue, and other procedures requiring a firm, scooping cutting action.
Design & Configuration
The rigid shaft provides tactile feedback and direct transmission of force for precise scraping motions. A 25 mm sharp spoon-style tip offers a broad cutting edge to engage and remove tissue efficiently, while the 31 cm overall length allows adequate reach and control within the operative field without flexing. The Figure 13 pattern denotes the specific tip geometry and handle-to-shaft relationship used for this instrument.
