Clinical Application

Designed for endometrial scraping and controlled evacuation of the uterine cavity, this Sims-pattern curette is used during diagnostic and therapeutic dilation and curettage (D&C), endometrial biopsy, removal of retained products of conception, and intrauterine debridement. The blunt loop enables effective tissue sampling while minimizing focal trauma to the endometrial surface.

Design & Configuration

The malleable shaft can be shaped intraoperatively to match uterine curvature, improving access and alignment in anatomically variable cases. A blunt, rounded curette loop spreads contact pressure over a larger area to reduce the risk of perforation compared with sharp curettes, while the 30 mm loop diameter provides a balance between surface coverage and tactile feedback for thorough sampling. The 31 cm overall length affords reach for deeper uterine cavities and accommodates a variety of patient anatomies and surgical approaches.
