Clinical Application
Designed for gynecologic procedures requiring controlled endometrial or intrauterine tissue removal, this Sims-pattern uterine curette is used for diagnostic and operative curettage, endometrial sampling, and light debridement of the uterine cavity. The 9 mm curette tip provides a defined working edge for efficient tissue collection while minimizing unnecessary trauma to surrounding endometrium when used with standard clinical technique.
Design & Configuration
The malleable shaft allows the clinician to contour the instrument to patient anatomy and approach angle, aiding access to the uterine fundus and lateral walls without repeatedly exchanging instruments. The Sims (Fig.3) profile pairs a gently curved shaft with a spoon/loop-style curette tip; this geometry facilitates a scraping motion along the endometrial surface and provides reliable tissue capture. The 31 cm overall length gives extended reach for deeper uterine cavities encountered in some clinical situations.
