Clinical Application

This Sims-pattern uterine curette is designed for gynecologic procedures requiring controlled mechanical removal of intrauterine tissue. Typical uses include diagnostic and therapeutic dilation & curettage (D&C), evacuation of retained products of conception, endometrial sampling adjunct, and uterine cavity debridement. The 19 mm spoon-shaped tip provides a broad contact surface for effective scraping and tissue retrieval in a single pass when appropriate.

Design & Configuration

The Sims geometry features a concave, spoon-like tip that engages and removes soft tissue from the uterine lining with tactile feedback useful to the operator. A malleable shaft permits the instrument to be gently contoured to match uterine axis or anatomic variants (for example retroversion or anteversion), improving access and line of sight during intrauterine manipulation. A 31 cm overall length provides sufficient reach for most adult uterine anatomies while preserving control at the handle.
