Clinical Application

Designed for gynecologic procedures that require controlled endometrial sampling or mechanical evacuation of the uterine cavity. Common uses include diagnostic and therapeutic curettage during dilation and curettage (D&C), removal of retained products of conception, and targeted scraping for tissue sampling. The blunt spoon-shaped tip is intended to collect tissue while minimizing sharp cutting edges, providing tactile feedback during scraping.

Design & Configuration

The rigid shaft provides direct transmission of force and tactile feedback, enabling precise scraping in a variety of uterine positions. The 11 mm rounded curette head (Figure 4 Sims pattern) offers an ample surface area for tissue collection while the blunt profile reduces the risk of focal perforation compared with sharp curette designs. The 31 cm overall length gives extended reach for adequate access to the uterine cavity in standard adult anatomy and when used with cervical dilation.
