Clinical Application

This Sims-pattern uterine curette is designed for controlled scraping and sampling of the endometrial lining and for removal of soft tissue within the uterine cavity. It is used in diagnostic and therapeutic gynecologic procedures such as dilation and curettage (D&C), management of retained products of conception, and targeted endometrial biopsies where a manual curettage technique is indicated.

Design & Configuration

The rigid 31 cm shaft provides reach and tactile feedback for intrauterine work while maintaining shaft stability during controlled scraping maneuvers. The 35 mm spoon-shaped tip conforms to the uterine curvature to gather tissue efficiently and evenly across the sampling surface. The Sims pattern (Fig.15) geometry facilitates atraumatic contact with the uterine wall and gives the operator predictable orientation within the cavity.
