Clinical Application
This Sims-pattern uterine curette is designed for gynecologic procedures that require controlled scraping or debridement of the endometrial lining. It is used in diagnostic and therapeutic uterine curettage to collect tissue samples, remove retained products of conception or endometrial polyps, and for general uterine cavity evacuation where a spoon-shaped curette is indicated.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a rigid shaft to provide direct tactile feedback and precise control during intrauterine maneuvers. The Sims spoon-shaped tip allows effective scraping and scooping of endometrial tissue with a broad contact surface that reduces focal pressure on the uterine wall. The 31 cm overall length gives sufficient reach for standard adult uterine cavities while maintaining stability and handling ergonomics for the operator.
