Clinical Application
Designed for gynecologic procedures requiring controlled mechanical curettage of the uterine cavity. Common uses include diagnostic and therapeutic endometrial sampling, dilation & curettage (D&C), and removal of retained intrauterine tissue. The 15 mm curetting tip provides a broad contact surface for efficient tissue removal while preserving tactile feedback during passage and scraping.
Design & Configuration
The rigid shaft configuration delivers direct transmission of manual force and fine tactile feedback, important when negotiating uterine anatomy and confirming engagement with target tissue. At 31 cm overall length the instrument provides adequate working reach for transvaginal access across a range of uterine positions. The Sims-type curetting tip (Fig. 7) uses a spoon/loop geometry to gather and detach endometrial tissue effectively while minimizing perforation risk when used with appropriate technique.
