Clinical Application

Designed for gynecologic procedures requiring controlled curettage or tissue sampling of the uterine cavity. Common uses include diagnostic and therapeutic dilation & curettage (D&C), sampling of endometrial tissue for pathology, removal of retained products of conception, and adjunct use during hysteroscopy or polypectomy. The instrument’s geometry facilitates acquisition of endometrial tissue while allowing the operator to apply focused, controlled pressure to the uterine lining.

Design & Configuration

The rigid shaft provides direct transmission of tactile feedback and controlled force during curettage, reducing shaft flex under load compared with flexible designs. The Sims-style spoon/oval tip is shaped to scoop and collect tissue efficiently while minimizing excessive endometrial trauma. The 31 cm overall length gives extended reach for a range of uterine positions and sizes; the 9 mm tip dimension balances sample volume with atraumatic contact to the cavity.
