Clinical Application
This tip restores the cutting and grasping function of a Townsend biopsy forceps Fig.5, enabling reliable tissue sampling during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Intended for clinicians and facilities that rely on reusable forceps for obtaining targeted biopsy specimens, the replacement tip returns the instrument to service without replacing the entire tool, reducing downtime and procurement cost. Common uses include endoscopic and open biopsy procedures where a precise cutting jaw is required to secure and excise small tissue samples.
Design & Configuration
As a tip-only replacement, the component is machined to replicate the Fig.5 geometry so occlusion and cutting action match the original instrument. Proper tip geometry is critical for predictable bite size, atraumatic handling of tissue, and accurate alignment with the opposing jaw. Using a matched replacement tip preserves instrument balance and tactile feedback, ensuring the surgeon's technique and the forceps' performance remain consistent.
