Clinical Application
Designed to obtain small targeted tissue samples, these biopsy forceps are intended for procedures that require precise grasping and excision at a distance from the operator. The 24 cm working length provides extended reach into deeper operative fields or access through portals and wounds where a standard-length instrument is insufficient. Common applications include sampling of soft tissue during diagnostic procedures and targeted biopsy in confined anatomical spaces.
Design & Configuration
The long-shaft, hand-held configuration gives the clinician controlled access and direct manual feedback when closing the jaws. The Fig. 1 Schumacher biopsy jaw profile is optimized for controlled tissue capture and a consistent bite, allowing the operator to secure and retrieve small specimens with minimal collateral trauma. The shaft length and slim profile reduce crowding at the operative site while maintaining tactile control.
