Clinical Application
Designed for secure grasping and controlled traction of the cervix and uterine tissue, this vulsellum is commonly used during gynecologic procedures such as dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy setup, cervical cerclage preparation, IUD removal and other vaginal procedures where firm tissue purchase and atraumatic manipulation are required. The toothed tips provide a reliable hold on the cervical lip or myometrial surface to improve exposure and facilitate safe instrument manipulation.
Design & Configuration
The angled S/J configuration provides an approach angle that improves line-of-sight and working space in the vagina and pelvic cavity compared with straight patterns. The angled shaft reduces interference with the surgeon’s hand and adjacent instruments, while the vulsellum-style toothed jaws deliver strong, non-slip purchase on soft tissue. The 26 cm length gives additional reach for deeper vaginal work or when greater working distance is needed.
