Clinical Application
This straight Schroeder tenaculum is used to securely grasp and stabilize the cervix and adjacent soft tissue during gynecologic procedures. Common applications include cervical traction for intrauterine device placement, hysteroscopy, dilation and curettage, colposcopy-directed procedures, and other minor gynecologic operative tasks where controlled tissue capture and steady traction are required.
Design & Configuration
The straight shaft provides direct, in-line access to the cervix when the patient is in lithotomy position, allowing the surgeon to apply axial traction without lateral torque. The hooked tenaculum tips engage tissue predictably to maintain secure purchase during manipulation and instrument exchange. The instrument’s length supports adequate working reach from the field while maintaining tactile feedback for fine positioning and controlled traction.
