Clinical Application
Designed for dependable grasping and traction of the cervix and other firm pelvic soft tissues during gynecologic procedures. Provides secure purchase for cervical stabilization and controlled traction during dilation & curettage (D&C), cervical biopsies, IUD removal, colposcopy-directed procedures, and other minor operative gynecology tasks where a firm, dependable hold is required.
Design & Configuration
The long 24 cm shank increases reach and keeps the operator’s hands away from the operative field, improving ergonomics and visibility during vaginal procedures. The vulsellum-style pronged jaws are configured to penetrate slightly and seat into firm tissue for axial traction with minimal slippage. A ring-handle design with a locking ratchet permits sustained traction without continuous manual force, allowing assistants or the primary surgeon to maintain position while performing subsequent steps.
