Clinical Application
Designed for mechanical dilation of the cervical canal to establish or maintain uterine access. Commonly used during procedures such as diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, dilation and curettage (D&C), endometrial sampling, IUD insertion or removal when controlled dilation to approximately 17 mm is required. Can be used in concert with a speculum and tenaculum to stabilize the cervix during dilation.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s rigid, single-piece construction and smooth shaft provide predictable transmission of axial force during dilation while minimizing surface drag against the cervical epithelium. A precisely sized 17 mm diameter delivers consistent lumen enlargement, helping clinicians achieve the target cervical aperture with controlled tactile feedback. The handle and shaft geometry support one-handed advancement when used with standard gynecologic retractors and stabilizing instruments.
