Clinical Application
Designed for mechanical cervical dilation, this double-ended Hegar dilator provides controlled enlargement of the cervical canal to permit safe access to the uterine cavity. Common procedural uses include preparation for dilation and curettage, hysteroscopy, intrauterine device procedures, management of cervical stenosis, and other gynecologic or obstetric interventions where a larger cervical diameter is required.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended (D/E) format supplies two large, closely matched diameters on a single instrument, reducing instrument exchanges during cases that require progressive or stepped dilation. The straight, cylindrical profile with a smooth, tapered and rounded tip distributes radial pressure evenly to minimize focal trauma while providing tactile feedback to the operator for controlled dilation.
Instrument Specifications
- Double-ended configuration: 25 mm and 26 mm diameters
- Straight, cylindrical shaft with tapered, rounded ends for atraumatic entry
