Clinical Application
Used to achieve controlled mechanical dilation of the cervical canal prior to intrauterine procedures. The 10.0 mm diameter provides a moderate level of dilation appropriate when passage of hysteroscopes, biopsy instruments, curette shafts, or intrauterine devices is required. Common clinical settings include office gynecology, ambulatory surgery, D&C procedures, hysteroscopy preparation, and sterilization procedures where gradual, tactile dilation is preferred.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s smooth, tapered, rounded tip facilitates atraumatic entry through the cervical os while minimizing tissue snagging. The single-ended configuration offers a straightforward working profile for clinicians who use individual dilators rather than double-ended sets. The uniform cylindrical taper provides consistent tactile feedback so the operator can judge tissue resistance and dilate incrementally and safely.
