Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic lateral retraction of the vaginal mucosa and walls to improve visualization and access during gynecologic procedures. Common applications include exposure for repair of vaginal prolapse, posterior and anterior colporrhaphy, episiotomy repair, diagnostic and operative vaginal surgery, and other procedures requiring sustained retraction of the vaginal vault.
Design & Configuration
The Ulrich pattern combines a broad, rectangular blade footprint with a slender shaft to maximize exposure while minimizing obstruction of the operative field. The 80 x 20 mm blade provides a balance of surface contact for soft-tissue retraction and a low-profile edge for placement in confined anatomies. A 19.5 cm overall length allows the surgeon to reach deeper vaginal compartments while maintaining ergonomic control from outside the wound.
