Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic visualization of the vaginal canal in pediatric and small-adult patients, this bivalve speculum provides controlled exposure for diagnostic exams, specimen collection (swabs, cultures), topical treatments, and minor outpatient procedures. The narrower blade profile and reduced overall dimensions help minimize patient discomfort and permit safe inspection of smaller anatomy where standard adult specula are unsuitable.
Design & Configuration
The narrow, smooth bivalve blades with an adjustable opening allow graduated retraction and direct line-of-sight access to the cervix and vaginal walls. The reduced width (10 mm) and shorter length (55 mm) are selected to match pediatric anatomy, reducing lateral pressure and the risk of mucosal trauma. An adjustable retention feature permits hands-free exposure when needed, supporting efficient sample collection and minor interventions while maintaining gentle tissue handling.
