Clinical Application
Designed to provide direct visualization and atraumatic separation of the vaginal walls for gynecologic assessment and minor procedures. Common uses include routine pelvic exams, Pap smear collection, colposcopy, IUD insertion and removal, and small outpatient cervical procedures where stable exposure of the cervix is required.
Design & Configuration
The bivalve design with a lateral screw mechanism allows the blades to be opened and maintained at a stable aperture without continuous manual retraction, freeing the clinician's hands for specimen collection or instrumentation. Flat-ended blades reduce focal pressure on mucosa compared with sharply contoured tips, helping minimize patient discomfort during insertion and manipulation. The blade dimensions (100 x 35 mm) provide moderate length and width suitable for typical adult examinations while maintaining good access for instruments and visualization.
