Clinical Application
This Cusco-style bivalved vaginal speculum provides atraumatic separation of the vaginal walls to permit direct visualization and access to the cervix. It is designed for routine gynecologic exams and procedures such as cervical inspection, Pap smear collection, insertion or removal of intrauterine devices, and simple minor vaginal procedures where steady exposure and a clear line of sight are required.
Design & Configuration
The mid-hinged, two-blade (bivalved) geometry opens the anterior and posterior vaginal walls laterally, offering symmetrical exposure of the cervix while minimizing patient discomfort. The self-retaining mechanism maintains consistent exposure without continuous manual retraction, allowing the clinician to use both hands for instrumentation, sampling, or minor procedures. The X-large blade dimension provides an expanded field for patients with a wider vaginal vault or when greater exposure is needed for operative maneuvers.
