Clinical Application

Curved dilating bougies are used to progressively dilate the urethral lumen, facilitate passage of catheters and endoscopes, and to calibrate urethral diameter during urologic procedures. The curved geometry and 27 Fr caliber make this instrument appropriate for adult male urethral dilation, management of short segment strictures, and situations where controlled tactile feedback is required to negotiate anatomy and avoid creating false passages.

Design & Configuration

The curved profile follows the natural anterior urethral curvature, improving alignment during insertion and reducing the risk of trauma compared with straight dilators in male anatomy. A tapered, smooth tip permits gradual, atraumatic entry and progressive dilation.
