Clinical Application
Curved dilating bougies are used to dilate and calibrate the urethra during diagnostic and therapeutic urologic procedures. This 25 Fr curved bougie provides a controlled radial stretch for management of urethral strictures, facilitation of catheter exchange, and access preparation for endoscopic instrumentation. The size and curvature make it suitable for adult urethral work where progressive dilation or patency assessment is required.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry follows the natural anatomic contour of the male urethra, improving tactile feedback and reducing the need for forceful manipulation. The length provides ample working reach and control for safe insertion and withdrawal while allowing the operator to maintain a secure grip outside the patient. A single-piece, smooth profile minimizes catch points and helps reduce mucosal trauma during serial dilation.
