Clinical Application
This curved Dittel dilating bougie is intended to provide controlled progressive dilation and luminal access during urologic procedures. It is commonly used to negotiate urethral strictures, dilate narrowed segments, and act as a guide for catheter placement or dilator exchanges. The 24 French caliber is selected for moderate-caliber dilation and for situations where a larger lumen is required for subsequent instrumentation or drainage.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry helps align the instrument with the natural anatomic curvature encountered during urethral passage, improving control and reducing the need for repeated redirection. The tapered, atraumatic dilating tip facilitates gradual lumen expansion while minimizing mucosal trauma. A 34.5 cm working length provides sufficient reach for adult anatomy and procedural maneuvers where extended length is required.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Dilating bougie (Dittel pattern)
- Configuration: Curved
- Size: 24 Fr
- Length: 34.5 cm
- Tip: Tapered, atraumatic dilating tip
- Intended use: Urethral dilation and catheter guidance

Material & Construction
Constructed for repeated clinical use and compatible with standard hospital sterilization and high-level disinfection processes. The shaft and tip are finished to a smooth, low-friction surface to facilitate atraumatic passage and reduce adherence of biologic material. Reusable construction supports procedural efficiency and cost-effectiveness for high-volume environments.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
