Clinical Application
Designed for urologic use to probe, dilate, and evaluate the male urethra. Commonly used to gently dilate a urethral stricture, clear or negotiate a tight urethral segment, and facilitate the passage of a Foley catheter (for example up to the instrumentized size). Also used during diagnostic assessment to localize the level and resistance of strictures prior to definitive treatment.
Design & Configuration
The slightly curved shaft mirrors the natural anterior curvature of the male urethra, improving tactile feedback and allowing controlled advancement while minimizing false passages. A smooth, tapered, atraumatic rounded tip reduces mucosal trauma and eases entry through the meatus and strictured segments. The rigid, single-piece geometry provides predictable pushability and direct transmission of tactile sensation to the operator.
