Clinical Application
Designed to assist urologists and perioperative teams in atraumatic urethral access, calibration and dilation. These instruments are used to facilitate passage of urethral catheters or guidewires, to size the urethral lumen during evaluation of strictures, and to sequentially dilate the urethra when incremental up-sizing is required. The 10 FG and 13 FG sizes provide common low-profile options for pediatric or adult urethral work where gradual dilation or catheter guidance is indicated.
Design & Configuration
The tapered, rounded tip geometry minimizes mucosal trauma during insertion and negotiation of the urethral meatus. A straight, smooth shaft with graduated sizing allows predictable passage and controlled up-sizing from a smaller introducer (10 FG) to a larger one (13 FG). The simple, slender configuration is intended to provide tactile feedback to the operator for depth and resistance without excessive bulk that can impede catheter placement.
Instrument Specifications
- Sizes: 10 French (FG) and 13 French (FG)
- Tip: Atraumatic rounded, tapered tip for atraumatic insertion
- Configuration: Straight introducer for urethral access and dilation
- Intended use: Urethral calibration, dilation, catheter guidance/exchange
- Reusable: Designed for repeated clinical use and reprocessing
Material & Construction
Constructed for repeated clinical use with a smooth finish to reduce tissue drag and facilitate cleaning and reprocessing. The tapered tip and continuous shaft geometry help minimize crevices and allow effective sterilization between uses. Packaging and handling should follow facility reprocessing protocols.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
