Clinical Application
Small-caliber urethral dilators intended to establish or maintain urethral patency, assist passage of catheters or guidewires, and assess urethral lumen caliber. Used in urology clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and operating rooms for management of tight meatal or short urethral strictures, catheter placement when initial attempts are difficult, and diagnostic sounding.
Design & Configuration
The tapered, rounded tip reduces mucosal trauma during passage while the slender, straight shaft provides predictable tactile feedback for controlled advancement. Offering two close-caliber options (8 and 11 French) enables stepwise upsizing to dilate incrementally and minimize force. The simple straight geometry is suited for blind passage as well as guided use under direct visualization or fluoroscopy.
