Clinical Application

Designed to retract and stabilize the bladder and adjacent anterior pelvic tissues during open urologic and pelvic operations. Common applications include exposure during retropubic prostatectomy, cystotomy and bladder repair, suprapubic access, and other procedures where atraumatic elevation and sustained exposure of the bladder dome or neck are required. The instrument provides a stable field to facilitate precise dissection, suturing, and visualization while reducing the need for repeated manual retraction.

Design & Configuration

The Millin geometry uses a broad, bladder-facing blade that distributes contact pressure across a wider surface to minimize focal tissue trauma. An offset or angled shaft places the handle away from the operative field for unobstructed access to deep pelvic anatomy and improved ergonomics for the surgeon and assistant. The single-blade, hand-held configuration allows controlled, adjustable retraction during key steps of open pelvic surgery.
