Clinical Application

Intended for progressive dilation of the biliary tract during open biliary procedures and common bile duct exploration. Common intraoperative uses include dilation of a choledochotomy or biliary orifice to permit passage of extraction instruments, stone removal devices, catheters or drains, and controlled sphincteroplasty in staged enlargement. The 4 mm tip provides a conservative initial dilating diameter for incremental enlargement.

Design & Configuration

The long 30 cm shaft provides reach into the proximal biliary tree and through established T‑tube or choledochotomy tracts, allowing the surgeon to dilate areas that are otherwise difficult to access. A tapered dilator profile enables gradual, controlled stretching of the ductal lumen while minimizing focal stress on tissue. A smooth, polished surface facilitates atraumatic passage and reduces tissue adherence during insertion and withdrawal.
