Clinical Application
Designed to provide broad, atraumatic retraction of the tongue to improve visualization and access to the oral cavity and oropharynx. Commonly used by ENT surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff during oral examinations, airway management support for direct laryngoscopy or intubation, minor intraoral procedures (biopsy, suturing), and dental or clinic-based interventions where stable tongue control is required.
Design & Configuration
The single flat paddle geometry distributes contact pressure across a wide surface to minimize focal trauma to the tongue while maintaining secure retraction. At 19 cm overall length the instrument reaches deeper into the oropharynx than short exam depressors, enabling one-handed manipulation and improved visualization in adults and larger patients. A smooth, contoured blade edge facilitates tissue control without catching or abrasion, and the rigid shaft provides consistent mechanical advantage during retraction.
