Clinical Application
Designed to provide atraumatic retraction of the tongue to improve visualization and access to the oral cavity, oropharynx and posterior pharynx. Commonly used in ENT clinics, minor procedure rooms and dental settings for diagnostic inspection, foreign body removal, topical medication application and as an adjunct during minor operative procedures that require controlled tongue depression.
Design & Configuration
The single flat blade and straight profile deliver broad, even contact across the dorsal surface of the tongue, minimizing localized pressure and gag reflex. At 14 cm overall length, the geometry provides additional reach into the oral cavity while allowing the operator to maintain precise one-handed control. The Fig. 1 pattern provides a simple, low-profile spatula that is easy to maneuver in confined oral and pharyngeal spaces.
