Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic retraction of the tongue to expose the oral cavity and posterior pharynx for examination, suctioning, foreign-body removal, topical procedures and assistance during oral or orotracheal intubation. The curved blade is useful when working deeper in the oropharynx or when a contoured approach is needed to lift the tongue and improve visualization of the posterior pharynx and laryngeal inlet.
Design & Configuration
The curved blade geometry follows the natural profile of the tongue, allowing controlled elevation without concentrated pressure at a single point. A 22 mm wide flat surface distributes contact force to reduce tissue trauma while providing a stable platform for instrument passage or suction. The 12 cm length offers sufficient reach for adult oral cavity work while preserving tactile control for the operator.
