Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled retraction of the lips and buccal mucosa to expose the operative field during intraoral procedures. Commonly used in oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental surgery (including extractions and implant placement), minor ENT procedures and wound closure in the perioral region. The instrument holds soft tissue out of the field to facilitate visualization, instrumentation, suture placement and irrigation.
Design & Configuration
The 14 cm length is sized for comfortable intraoral reach while maintaining tactile control by the assistant or primary operator. The Sternberg pattern features contoured blades configured to evert and retract lips and cheek without obstructing access to posterior and anterior tooth rows. A smooth, polished surface on the blades reduces adherence and minimizes soft-tissue trauma during retraction and repositioning.
