Clinical Application
Provides hands-free retraction of the lips and buccal soft tissues to maintain a clear operative field in intraoral procedures. Common applications include third molar and tooth extractions, implant site exposure, vestibuloplasty, soft-tissue biopsies, cleft lip/palate repair adjunct retraction, and general oral/maxillofacial surgery where prolonged exposure without an assistant is advantageous. The device helps protect soft tissue and improve visibility of the alveolar ridge, vestibule and posterior oral cavity.
Design & Configuration
The self-retaining locking mechanism secures bilateral blades in a fixed position to free the surgical team's hands for instrumentation. Blade geometry is configured to evert and retract lips and cheeks away from the surgical site while minimizing direct pressure on delicate mucosa. The Fig.3 designation identifies the specific blade/spread pattern within the Oringer series, enabling selection of an appropriate span and contour for the indicated operative field.
