Clinical Application

This replacement blade is the working retraction element used in a Dingman mouth gag Figure 2 assembly. When mounted to the corresponding frame it provides stable separation and exposure of the oral cavity and oropharynx for procedures such as intraoral tumor excision, dental and maxillofacial operations, cleft palate repair, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy support, and other ENT interventions where consistent oral exposure is required. Using a dedicated replacement blade helps maintain a sterile operative field and restores original gag geometry without replacing the entire frame.

Design & Configuration

The Fig.2 blade is a purpose-shaped retraction element whose contour and working profile are intended to distribute retraction forces and maintain unobstructed access to the surgical site. Its mounting interface mates with the Dingman frame to lock the blade in a fixed position during surgery, providing stable tissue retraction and allowing clear instrument and suction access. Providing the blade as a separate, replaceable component enables quick exchange for cleaning, sterilization or to replace a worn element without replacing the entire gag assembly.
