Clinical Application
Provides stable, hands‑free oral cavity retraction for procedures that require prolonged access to the oropharynx. Commonly used in otolaryngology (tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy), maxillofacial and dental surgery, and in airway management where consistent mouth opening and tongue control improve visualization and instrument access. The frame-only format allows clinicians to select blade styles and sizes appropriate to the procedure and patient anatomy.
Design & Configuration
The adult frame is a self-retaining support structure designed to accept Davis–Boyle style tongue and cheek blades. Its geometry establishes and maintains mouth opening and tongue position, enabling hands-free exposure of the surgical field. A locking/adjustment mechanism secures the chosen degree of opening to minimize intraoperative movement and reduce the need for manual retraction, which improves surgeon access and procedural efficiency.
