Clinical Application
This tongue plate is a replacement component for the Kilner‑Doughty gag Fig.2, intended to provide atraumatic retraction and stabilization of the tongue during intraoral, oropharyngeal and select ENT procedures. When mounted to the gag frame it maintains clear exposure of the oral cavity and oropharynx for procedures such as tonsillectomy, airway access, intraoral lesion excision, and other operations requiring sustained tongue control.
Design & Configuration
The plate features a smooth, contoured surface designed to distribute contact pressure across the dorsal tongue while minimizing focal compression. Its geometry is optimized to sit securely within the Kilner‑Doughty Fig.2 frame, allowing consistent positioning and easy interchangeability during instrument setup. A flush, polished profile reduces soft tissue snagging and facilitates atraumatic insertion and removal.
Instrument Specifications
