Clinical Application
This spare perforated Fig.2 blade is intended as a replacement blade for instruments that accept a Fig.2 style mounting. The perforated surface is used to provide broad, atraumatic retraction while allowing sutures to be passed through the blade or to permit fluid egress during procedures. Typical applications include general surgery, reconstructive and plastic procedures, and operative cases where prolonged exposure, secure tissue fixation to the blade, or drainage control are required. The 25 cm length gives extended reach into deeper wound cavities and larger operative fields.
Design & Configuration
The perforated geometry reduces suction and pooling beneath the blade, helps prevent tissue slippage, and enables direct suture fixation if needed. The Fig.2 pattern identifies the blade's mount/profile so it can be fitted to the corresponding handle or instrument assembly. A longer 25 cm blade provides increased exposure while keeping the working profile broad enough for effective retraction across wider tissue planes. Secure attachment to the host instrument is critical for safe retraction; confirm mounting compatibility and locking mechanism before use.
Instrument Specifications
