Clinical Application

Designed for excision and curettage of adenoid tissue in adenoidectomy procedures. The curette supports controlled tissue removal from the nasopharyngeal vault under direct or endoscopic visualization and is commonly used with standard mouth gags and suction. Its geometry facilitates efficient shaving and removal of residual adenoidal tissue, including in revision cases or when precise bites are required.

Design & Configuration

The 18 mm curette head delivers a moderate tissue "bite" per pass while the 22 cm shaft provides reach into the nasopharynx without excessive shaft length that can reduce tactile feedback. The scoop-shaped cutting edge is configured to engage and remove adenoidal tissue with a combination of sweeping and levering motions. The Fig.3 pattern identifies the specific head/shaft orientation favored for accessing the posterior choanal and adenoidal bed with consistent hand positioning.
