Clinical Application
This blunt Myles curette is designed for gynecologic intrauterine procedures where controlled blunt curettage is preferred. Common uses include endometrial sampling, removal of retained products of conception, postpartum uterine cleaning, and gentle debridement of the uterine cavity during dilation and curettage (D&C) procedures. The blunt edge reduces risk of perforation compared with sharp curettes while allowing effective mechanical removal of tissue.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a spoon-shaped blunt bowl at the working tip to gather and remove soft tissue with broad contact rather than cutting. The 17 cm overall length provides sufficient reach to access the uterine cavity in typical adult cases while maintaining tactile feedback during scraping. The blunt geometry is selected to balance efficacy of tissue removal with reduced trauma to the myometrium and endometrium.
