Clinical Application
Designed for controlled retraction of the alar rim and adjacent soft tissues in intranasal and external nasal procedures. The sharp tip configuration provides secure engagement of the alar soft tissue and vestibular mucosa to improve exposure during open and closed rhinoplasty, alar base reductions, septoplasty mucoperichondrial elevation, and other rhinologic or facial plastic steps that require precise, low-profile retraction within the nasal vestibule.
Because the tips are sharp, the instrument is intended to be used by trained surgical personnel who will balance the need for secure tissue handling with gentle technique to avoid unnecessary mucosal trauma.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended (D/E) design offers immediate access to a second working tip without instrument exchange, increasing efficiency on the field. At 12 cm overall length the instrument provides intranasal reach while maintaining ergonomic control for fine adjustments. The sharp-tip pattern secures soft tissue and minimizes slippage in confined nasal spaces; the narrow footprint of an alar retractor reduces obstruction of the surgical view compared with larger forehead or cheek retractors.
