Clinical Application
This rasp is intended for intranasal use to refine and contour bony and cartilaginous irregularities encountered in rhinologic procedures. Common applications include smoothing septal spurs, contouring dorsal humps during septorhinoplasty, and deburring or leveling exposed bony edges after osteotomies. The rasp provides controlled surface removal where precise shaping is required without bulk tissue excision.
Design & Configuration
The right-curved geometry provides direct access and ergonomics for working the right nasal cavity and right-sided structures while maintaining visibility and instrument control. A Fig. 3 pattern indicates a specific curvature profile useful for reaching mid-to-deep intranasal planes. The textured rasping surface allows progressive material removal with tactile feedback, enabling the surgeon to smooth contours incrementally and avoid over-resection.
