Clinical Application
This V-shaped nasal gouge is designed for controlled removal and contouring of small segments of nasal bone and firm cartilage within the nasal cavity. It is used in septoplasty, open and closed rhinoplasty, turbinate surgery and other intranasal procedures where precise gouging or carving of bone/cartilage is required. The narrow V profile allows targeted work in confined anatomy without overly aggressive tissue displacement.
Design & Configuration
The V-shaped tip concentrates cutting force along a defined crest, permitting predictable bite into cortical bone and dense cartilage. A 4 mm tip width provides a balance between focal cutting and adequate surface engagement; the 16 cm overall length offers reach into deeper nasal corridors while maintaining tactile feedback for the operating surgeon. The straight shank and slim profile facilitate visibility and maneuverability in narrow intranasal spaces.
