Clinical Application
Provides a controlled percutaneous access port for minimally invasive procedures. The trocar and cannula combination establishes a working channel for introduction of laparoscopic instruments, suction/irrigation tubing, drainage catheters, or camera scopes in general surgery, gynecology, and urology. The 18Fg size is intended for medium-bore access where a balance of instrument passage and reduced incision profile is required.
Design & Configuration
The two-piece design separates the penetrating obturator (trocar) from the hollow cannula to minimize tissue trauma during entry and to maintain a stable, continuous working channel once positioned. The cannula protects soft tissue during instrument exchanges and helps maintain pneumoperitoneum when used in laparoscopic procedures. A standardized 18Fg internal lumen accommodates instruments and tubing sized for that gauge while keeping the external profile appropriate for percutaneous entry.
