Clinical Application
Provides controlled separation of the nostril to facilitate visualization and access to the anterior nasal cavity. Commonly used in office and operative settings for diagnostic nasal examinations, topical treatment or cautery of anterior bleeding sites, foreign body removal, suture placement, and as an exposure aid during minor endonasal procedures. The adjustable opening allows the operator to maintain consistent exposure while performing delicate mucosal work.
Design & Configuration
The two-bladed, hinged geometry produces symmetrical lateral separation of the vestibular walls, improving line-of-sight into the anterior nasal passages. Rounded, atraumatic blade edges reduce focal pressure on mucosa and septal tissues. An adjustable opening mechanism permits incremental widening and stable maintenance of exposure so the clinician can work hands-free or with minimal assistance.
